EAGE Stavanger Tech Talk

We're pleased to announce our upcoming Tech Talk, "Geothermal Energy in Norway", featuring Kirsti Midttømme, Chief Scientist from NORCE.

Kirsti is a civil engineer with a PhD in thermal modeling from the Department of Geoscience at NTNU. Since 2011, she has been employed at NORCE (formerly Christian Michelsen Research). Prior to this, she worked at the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) from 1998 to 2008 and at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) from 2008 to 2011. Her primary areas of expertise include geothermal energy, ground source heat pumps, thermal energy storage, and integrated energy systems. In recent years, she has also served as a project manager for initiatives related to CO₂ storage.

Her contributions have played a significant role in the development of geothermal energy in Norway. She has been involved in designing several of the country’s largest well parks, including those at Ahus and Sørlandssenteret in the 2000s, and…
