Engaging talk about Managing Subsurface Resources on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

On April 9th, the EAGE LC Stavanger hosted the second Tech Talk of the year in the wonderful ambiance provided by Spor5. The evening commenced with attendees mingling and networking and continued with Petter Dischington's engaging presentation titled The Norwegian Offshore Directorate – What are our responsibilities, and why do we care about technology?

The evening was truly enriching with Petter from the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD) delivering an insightful presentation on NOD's perspective on the energy industry. The event featured a range of discussions on CCS, seabed minerals, and updates on recent licensing rounds at the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), providing invaluable insights.

It's reassuring to note that NCS production remains steady on the plateau, with a substantial 3.1 billion barrels of oil equivalent awaiting development. This emphasizes the crucial role of #geoscientists and #engineers in the industry today and in the future.

Petter, on behalf of the EAGE Local Chapter of Stavanger, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your time and expertise! The stream of questions from the audience, which extended our session to 1.5 hours, underscores the immense interest and relevance of the topic!

We eagerly anticipate hosting you all again soon ✨
